The Kitty Hawk design is inspired by the Wright Brothers aircraft known as the  Flyer I or 1903 Flyer.

The Flyer I or 1903 Flyer  was the first successful heavier-than-air powered aircraft, designed and built by the Wright brothers. Kitty Hawk is where they tested their aircraft.
